2022 was a big year for this place. I visited 3 times! Once in February with my mom and sister, September with my 3 best friends from TN, and again in November for thanksgiving with my family!
Each time we stayed at the Omni Grove Park Inn. I LOVE this place. As much as I love exploring new places, I’m also a creature of habit. Once I find a place I love, I want to keep coming back.
The Omni Grove Park Inn provides excellent service to give you the ambiance of a luxury resort, while also ensuring “you feel like home”. The best rooms at the Omni are on the ends of the building in the new wings. While you’re a bit farther from the center, the rooms are newer and larger. The rooms inside the historic section are very neat since they are original, but definitely smaller. It would have been fine for Jin and me when we were visiting, but we had Mila and her bed setup with the SlumberPod which took up quite a bit of space, just something to keep in mind if you’re traveling to the Omni with littles.
Each time I visited, I made sure to get a reservation at the Spa. The Spa is a bit pricey, so make sure you budget for the service you want. I usually opt for the 50 minute full body massage, but they have a full list of services to choose from. The current price for a massage is $210 + gratuity, which includes the massage and access to the spa and amenities for the day. The amenities are the best part, in my opinion. They provide a robe and slippers, have multiple pools, a sauna, steam room, showers with all toiletries you would need, an outdoor hot tub that has pool side service from the spa cafe to order drinks or food, the list goes on.
If you’re looking for other things to do, Asheville is great for hiking, thrift shopping, or going to see the infamous Biltmore! If you’re planning to visit the Biltmore, I highly recommend getting tickets in advance. It’s also not extremely stroller friendly. They have one elevator onsite and there’s usually a line, only two adults are allowed on at a time due to weight capacity. Jin ended up carrying Mila most of the time we were there, which was no easy task.
The tickets to the Biltmore include a free wine tasting and ability to make reservations at some of the restaurants inside Biltmore village. Outside guests cannot make reservations at the restaurants onsite, it’s only for Biltmore ticket holders or those who are staying at one of the accommodations at the Biltmore.
If you’re looking for food, Asheville is a really good place to be :). It’s a quick and easy search to find a great restaurant in Asheville. Some of my favorites are Tupelo Honey, The Red Stag Grill, and First Watch. If you’re staying at the Omni, I recommend checking out the restaurants they have onsite. All of them are great, each providing their own experience. The Vue 1913 is more for a fine dining experience if you’re looking to dress up, but prepare your wallet as it’s a bit on the pricey end. The Blue Ridge Buffet is the best bang for your buck at $50/person for all you can eat buffet. I highly recommend wearing a dress or stretchy pants lol you’re going to leave very full! This is probably the best buffet I’ve ever had with multiple food options for everyone’s tastes. They have a special thanksgiving buffet that is to die for, but also very crowded on Thanksgiving. When we ate for Thanksgiving day they were at max capacity and they probably shoved too many tables in the limited space they had. It was still a good experience overall, but way too crowded on a holiday. If you’re looking for a good lunch, the Sunset Terrace or the Edison. Both of these restaurants offer great food and drink options with a great view of the mountains. All of my dining experiences at the Omni have been good, so it’s hard for me to leave the resort with everything at my finger tips. It definitely spoils you.
