Every time I start to pack for a trip I have to decide what bag(s) to bring! I finally got a duffle this year so I’m not having to lug around a suitcase for quick overnight trips. It was a bit of a splurge, but definitely an investment piece that I’ve wanted for a long time. I can tell you I have ZERO regrets about this bag, even Jin wants to carry it around.
Let’s start with her dimensions, which are 19.7 x 11.4 x 8.7 (LHW) inches and I opted for the Bandouliere strap to be able to wear it across my body or on my shoulder. I’ve been able to fit my large vanity case, curling iron, a pair of shoes, and about 2-3 outfits in here. She is perfect for a quick overnight trip and love the classic LV monogram look. She is a splurge, but the quality of the bag is worth it for me. The canvas leather is known to hold up for decades. I may pass this on to Mila one day :).
Let’s move on to the suitcase. The Delsey large suitcase is something I’ve had my eyes on for YEARS. I didn’t have a true need for this until my Paris trip when my beloved Calpak finally kicked the bucket by busting open. I practically had to have a moment of silence when I realized she was broken, she had been on many trips to several countries with me. I feel nostalgic all over again just typing it out.
Now, back to the Delsey. Jin told me to pick a suitcase I wanted for Christmas to replace my broken one. So, I began my search. Obviously the Delsey is one I looked up immediately, simply because I’ve seen it everywhere and always thought it was pretty. I still wanted one that was going to last me several years, whether it looked nice or not. The Delsey had great reviews and came with a few perks inside including a shoe bag, laundry bag, and a hanger. It also has a cool “brake” function to prevent the bag from rolling away. I didn’t think I’d use it, but I do! It’s nice to have especially with mobile toddler running around in an airport. The only “negatives” I would say about the suitcase is that it’s a bit heavy, which doesn’t help my overpacking problem when flying 😀 and it does scratch easily. The scratches are mostly superficial and clean up with a magic eraser easily. Needless to say, I still really like the suitcase and hope to get a matching carry-on to go with her soon.
