Hot Take: I don’t hate winter. I know those are fighting words for some, but as much as winter months can be tough I’d rather deal with the cold than be melting in the heat every day. At the same time, winter months can be TOUGH on my skin. I also have a few tried and true clothing items to keep me nice in cozy when I need to go outside.
- Vitamin C Serum
- This is the holy grail of Vitamin C Serums. I actually started using this when I was pregnant with Mila. I was hesitant to grab just any serum due to pregnancy, so I reached out to a friend of mine who is an esthetician in East Tennessee, Megan McKinney. She recommended this serum, and it was approved by my doctor (please always check with your own doctor). 2 years later, still going strong!
- Aquaphor
- Sometimes you just need an extra layer/barrier of moisture. This is my, and my whole family’s, go-to. I put this directly on my face, especially my cheeks, before bedtime. My cheeks get extremely dehydrated in the winter time and this is the only thing that saves them! We put it on Mila’s entire body. Jin loves it on his hands and feet when they start to dry and crack.
- Ugg Boots
- Ugg boots have been a staple in my closet since 2008. I have yet to come across a warmer winter shoe that’s still comfortable. Thank God they keep coming out with new styles and trends!
- Puffer Coat
- If you like to travel and need a warm jacket, but don’t want to wear it on the plane… this is the type of coat for you. You don’t need a Canada Goose necessarily, but it is an investment for years to come. It fits well, is compact, and looks good! It’s absolutely an investment and not for everyone. I’ve also included some other jackets that are equally cute and warm!
- Sugar Lip Balm
- Last, but certainly not least, is the Sugar Avanced Therapy Lip Balm by Fresh. I remember when my aunt put this in my stocking about 9 years ago. I loved it so much, I now ask for one every year at Christmas. Nothing makes my lips feel as buttery soft as this!
